Valentine's Weekend in Kangaroo Valley

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!Although it rained cats and dogs all weekend, it didn't stop us from having a lovely time in Kangaroo Valley. We rented a cute, cozy house called Braeside where Holly and Mark joined us. The countryside was beautiful, to say the least!

Quirky, or.......................................creepy?Definitely creepy to find this. I think it's safe to assume this is for wood chopping, but had it disappeared during our stay, I would have become worried! Ok.... obviously, I watched "Halloween" one too many times!
Part of Braeside's 4 acres.

Nice to have these little ladies supply us with eggs each morning.
A few reasons to visit Kangaroo Valley..........

Mark and my guy, Pete, sharing a dessert. Did I just say "sharing a dessert?".
Sharing a Valentine's Day kissSharing a lovely dinner.
On our way back, we stopped at Fitzroy Falls. A few reasons I enjoy life in Australia and a few reasons my family and friends should come and visit (hint, hint... nudge, nudge...). Even in the rain and fog, its beauty stands out.

I'M BACK!

Sorry I've been away for so long. It's time I stop neglecting my site and catch all of you up on how I've been doing. It's been a busy couple of months with our move to Paddington, but after bobbing and weaving this builder and that electrician, we are officially moved in and enjoying our new home. I'll post photos of our new place and should have those up by the end of this week, along with photos that date all the way back to Christmas and New Year's. In the mean time, I'd like to share my Valentine's weekend with you. Take a look at my next post to see how I spent it!

QUOTE FROM A FRIEND

"Perhaps the reason you stay together after all these years is the fact that you’re still trying to capture each other any way you can, every moment you have. Maybe the fact that you never can catch it all keeps it so fascinating."

Thanks for stopping by. I thought starting this page would be a fun way to keep in touch and you can see what I've been up to. My life took a surprising and wonderful turn back in 2006. Whoda thought I'd find myself leaving Chicago and moving to the other side of the world where I'm now enjoying life in Australia!
